Great design or accident?

Have you spotted the solid white arrow in the FedEx logo? (Were we the only ones who hadn't noticed?!). Take a look between the 'E' and the 'x'. Was it great design (we think so) or accident (maybe both!!)?

Only the designer and perhaps FedEx themselves know the truth.
